Prayer for Sen. John McCain

Today I was invited to give the opening invocation at the McCain rally at the Forum in Harriburg, PA. Following is the text of the prayer:

Heavenly Father from whom floweth every good and perfect gift. We thank you for keeping us safe throughout the night and brining us to this, the start of another day. We also thank you for all the blessings and freedoms that come with living in these United States, the greatest nation mankind has ever known.

Watch over John and Cindy bless and guide them wherever they may be, strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may the peace that passeth all understanding abide all the days of their lives.

We ask your blessing and anointing upon our presidential candidate. We honor his commitment to, and his sacrifices for this nation. We pray that he is victorious in this epoch and crucial battle that is set before him; a battle that pits those that value life, born and unborn, against those who think some lives are dispensable at a mere whim.

Lord, only you truly know how much is at stake. Lord, we are your children and we know it is the last hour. We pray that John has a decisive victory on Election day and this nation can begin the process of restoring financial stability and more importantly we can begin the process of healing. This we ask in Jesus name. And everyone says, Amen.
